Year Description
1807 First recorded baptism was Christiana Waleiser.
1857 May 27th, the first Holy Communion was administered at Zion. The service was in German.
1901 The service and sermon were gradually converted to English.
1954 The Zion congregation was transferred from the Ministerium Of Pennsylvania to the Central Pennsylvania Synod.
1965 Nursery Sunday School was added at Zion.
1975 Two Sunday morning worship services with baby-sitting available and monthly Communion services were instituted. Also, lay lectors were recruited to assist with the liturgy.
1977 Wednesday morning Prayer Services were introduced.
1978 Services were taped for the shut-in members.
1979 Sunday School used “Living Faith”, the first specific series for teachers.
1981 The second Sunday service was changed from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to allow more time for Sunday School and for the choir.
1981 Children’s sermons were being given on a monthly basis.
2002 The second Sunday service was changed from 10:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. to allow more time for Sunday School and for the choir.
2006 The second Sunday service was returned to its original 10:30 a.m. time.
